GEORGIA WHITE
Georgia is a registered psychologist, having started her career in government, moving across to the private sector where she experienced the very intense world of corporate insolvency. She believes that people can change themselves with the right help. Strongly influenced by her own life experiences – both professionally and in motherhood and marriage, she values the importance of building relationships and an understanding of each person’s unique situation which is the foundation to her integrated approach.
Georgia has worked and collaborated with people across all walks of life. In the consulting room, she balances straightforward honesty with compassion to help clients realise patterns in their life that were once helpful but which are no longer useful – allowing a perspective change that helps them access their potential. Georgia has also cultivated a comprehensive understanding of the multifaceted layers of care needed especially for families in these situations.
Her sessions offer a safe haven where informed and knowledgeable parents and children can unpack their experiences, emotions, and concerns, empowering them to thrive as caregivers, partners, and individuals.
Parents who are managing the nuances of a child’s diagnosis, be it Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), or other developmental or behavioural challenges, often find themselves grappling with intense emotions and ever-changing family dynamics. Georgia understands these unique pressures and offers tailored therapeutic interventions that not only focus on individual mental health but also on the broader family ecosystem.
Georgia uses a variety of interventions, such as, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, interpersonal processing, psycho-education, and skills building within a framework of integrated psychological and neurobiological theories including cognitive, psychodynamic, attachment and polyvagal theories.
